We developed a community engagement strategy, leading public meetings and stakeholder sessions to ensure meaningful participation.

The Challenge

In response to the Illinois Commerce Commission’s directive, Nicor Gas needed to develop a Long-Term Gas Infrastructure Plan that prioritized transparency and actively engaged stakeholders in the utility's investment planning process.

The Solution

We helped Nicor Gas design and implement a robust community engagement strategy. The team identified key stakeholders, crafted effective messaging, and supported the planning and execution of four public meetings and targeted stakeholder sessions. This approach ensured Nicor Gas could meaningfully engage with customers and community members throughout the process.

The Outcome

Nicor Gas developed a transparent five-year infrastructure plan that reflected customer benefits and minimized impacts. The company strengthened its partnerships with stakeholders and customers, creating a model for inclusive and transparent utility planning.
